Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 (TUE, 12AUG): Departure to Lisbon, Portugal. 

Day 2 (WED, 13AUG): Arrival in Lisbon, Portugal 
Morning: Arrive in Lisbon. Check into the hotel and rest a bit (check in available from 3 or 4:00 PM). Afternoon: Start sightseeing: Lisbon Cathedral (Sé de Lisboa) (from outside) and the Alfama District for panoramic views and charming narrow streets. Visit the Miradouro de Santa Luzia, offering lovely views of the city. Explore the Jeronimos Monastery (entrance included), a UNESCO World Heritage site with magnificent Manueline architecture. Head to Belem to see Belem Tower (from outside). Overnight: Stay in Lisbon.

Day 3 (THU, 14AUG): Lisbon to Fatima 
Early in the morning, Travel to Fatima (1.5 to 2 hours). Visit the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima, including the Chapel of the Apparitions, the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary, and the new Basilica. Evening: Participate in the Candlelight Procession (if available). Overnight: Stay in Fatima.

Day 4 (FRI, 15AUG): Fatima – Avila - Madrid, Spain 
Early in the morning, Travel to Avila. Visit St. Teresa of Ávila’s Convent (entrance included), the Basilica of St. Vincent (entrance included), and walk along Ávila’s city walls for a unique medieval experience. After exploring Ávila, continue your journey to Madrid (approximately 1.5). Evening: Walk through Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor, and explore the lively Gran Vía area. Check into your hotel in Madrid. Overnight: Stay in Madrid.

Day 5 (SAT, 16AUG): Madrid 
Morning: Walk through Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor, and explore the lively Gran Vía area. Stop by Plaza de Cibeles and the Cibeles Fountain. Explore the Royal Palace (entrance included) and its stunning gardens. Catedral de Almudena. Visit San Miguel Market sample local tapas. Free time. Overnight: Stay in Madrid.

Day 6 (SUN, 17AUG): Day Trip from Madrid to Zaragoza 
Early in the morning depart from Madrid to Zaragoza (about 4.5-5 hours). Visit the Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar, a majestic church by the river. The Ebro River & Puente de Piedra. The Aljafería Palace (from outside), a medieval Islamic fortress. Free time. Overnight: Stay in Zaragoza.

Day 7 (MON, 18AUG): Zaragoza - Barcelona - Half Day in Barcelona 
Transfer from Zaragoza to Barcelona (about 4 hours) Visit Sagrada Família (entrance included), Antoni Gaudí’s iconic basilica. Montjuïc Fountains for panoramic views of Barcelona. The Gothic Quarter and Cathedral (entrance included). Paseo de La Gracia. Overnight: Stay in Barcelona.

Day 8 (TUE, 19AUG): Barcelona to Lourdes 
In the morning depart from Barcelona to Lourdes (about 7 hours). Perhaps stop en Carcassonne en route for lunch. Arrive to Lourdes in late afternoon Overnight: Stay in Lourdes.

Day 9 (WED, 20AUG): Lourdes 
Visit the Grotto of Apparitions, Rosary Basilica, Basilica of St. Pius X and Way of the Cross over the Hillside. Attend the Blessed Sacrament Procession and the Torchlight Procession. Overnight: Stay in Lourdes.

Day 10 (THU, 21AUG): Lourdes to Paris train 
Train transfer from Lourdes to Paris. Arrive in Paris at noon time, then leisurely Seine River Cruise (included) for a beautiful view of the city’s landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower, Louvre, and Notre-Dame as the lights twinkle at night. Overnight: Stay in Paris.

Day 11 (FRI, 22AUG): Full Day in Paris 
The Opera House, the Madeleine Church, the Place de la Concorde, the Champs Elysees, Napoleon's great Arc de Triomphe, Les Invalides, the Military Academy and the Eiffel Tower (all visits from outside). Visit the famous Notre Dame Cathedral. Visit Montmartre Basilica (funicular included), and others. Later afternoon is at leisure. You may climb the Eifel tower or visit the Louvre Museum. Overnight: Stay in Paris.

Day 12 (SAT, 23AUG): Free day in Paris. 
Overnight: Stay in Paris.

​Day 13 (SUN, 24AUG): Return to Newark, NJ 
Transfer to the Airport for your return flight to Newark.
